Kubaba is a journal which specializes in the
interaction sphere of Southwest Asia, the Eastern Mediterranean, and
the Aegean before the Classical Era, what may be conveniently called
the "Pre-Classical" world. It publishes articles, notes, news and reviews.
Contributions may come from a wide range of disciplines, including Anthropology, Archaeology, Epigraphy, History, Historical Linguistics,
among others. Interdisciplinary approaches are welcome.
Kubaba is concerned with the
period from the emergence of writing and complex societies (4th
millennium BCE) down to the beginnings of the Classical Era. The
geographical scope of the journal encompasses the Eastern
Mediterranean ‒ together with the Aegean
and Cyprus ‒ and Southwestern Asia, this
last region including not only the traditional Ancient Near East but
also the Caucasus and Arabian Peninsula. Kubaba seeks furthermore to explore the interaction between these areas and other Mediterranean or Eurasian contexts.
Articles from both professional scholars and young researchers are eligible. The accepted languages are Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian and French.
